Concept Demo — fictional business

Back to OakBound Media

One shop. Four disciplines.

Diagnostics, brakes and suspension, tires and alignment, and detailing — done by the same crew, quoted in writing, and road-tested before the keys come back.

Diagnostics

A check-engine light doesn't tell you what's wrong — it tells you where to look. Every job starts with a full-system scan and a road test, then you get the findings in plain English with a written quote. You decide what gets fixed and when.

What's included

  • Full-system scan and fault-code review
  • Road test to reproduce the symptom
  • Plain-English explanation of the findings
  • Written quote before any work starts
  • Nothing repaired without your approval

Brakes & Suspension

Brakes and suspension wear gradually, which makes it easy to miss how far they've gone. We measure pad thickness and rotor condition, check shocks and bushings, and show you the wear on any part we recommend replacing — so the decision is based on measurements, not a script.

What's included

  • Pad and rotor measurement with actual numbers
  • Brake fluid condition check
  • Shock, strut, and bushing inspection
  • Hardware replaced, not just pads
  • Post-work road test before handback

Tires & Alignment

Uneven tire wear usually points at alignment or pressure, not bad luck. We mount and road-force balance new tires, check alignment against factory specs, and correct what's out of range — so your new set wears evenly from the first mile.

What's included

  • Mounting and road-force balancing
  • Four-wheel alignment to factory spec
  • Tire pressures set and capped
  • A rotation schedule for your driving pattern
  • Wear-pattern diagnosis on existing tires

Detailing

Detailing here means the full treatment: decontaminated paint, conditioned interior surfaces, and an engine bay clean enough to actually inspect for leaks. Good for sale prep, a seasonal reset, or just driving something that feels new again.

What's included

  • Hand wash with pH-balanced soap
  • Clay-bar decontamination and machine polish
  • Interior deep clean and conditioning
  • Engine bay degrease and dressing
  • Protective sealant on exterior trim

Questions we hear at the counter.

What does the check-engine light actually mean?+

A steady light means the car has logged a fault and wants attention soon. A flashing light means an active misfire — raw fuel can reach the exhaust and overheat the catalytic converter — so reduce driving and get it in quickly. Either way, the code is a starting point, not a diagnosis; the scan and road test tell us what's really happening.

How long does a diagnostic take?+

Most diagnostics are done within the day: scan, road test, and a written summary of findings. Intermittent electrical issues can take longer — if that's likely, we tell you before you leave the car, not after.

Do I have to approve the work before it starts?+

Yes. You get a written quote after the diagnostic, and no repair starts until you approve it. If something additional turns up mid-job, we stop and call you — no surprises on the invoice.

Do you use OEM parts?+

We quote both OEM and quality aftermarket options with the price difference shown, and you choose. For safety-critical items like brakes and steering components, we'll say plainly which option we'd pick for your car.

How often should my brakes be checked?+

A good rhythm is a look at every tire rotation — roughly once or twice a year for most drivers. Between visits, get it checked if you hear squealing, feel pulsing in the pedal, or notice the car pulling under braking.

What's included in a detail?+

The full interior and exterior treatment: hand wash, clay-bar decontamination, machine polish, interior deep clean and conditioning, and an engine bay degrease. Timing depends on the vehicle's condition — we'll give you an honest estimate when you book.
