West Ridge Cabin

Service
Low-slope metal retrofit
Location
West Ridge (sample location)
Finish
Slate gray, matte finish
Cabin in a pine forest clearing with a dark standing seam metal roof

The cabin's shallow-pitched roof had been patched repeatedly and still leaked at the stone chimney. Low-slope metal needs tighter tolerances than a steep roof, so we ran a standing seam system rated for the pitch and rebuilt the chimney flashing as a two-piece counter-flashing detail.

The wooded setting meant daily cleanup mattered — pine needles and fastener offcuts were cleared every evening so the clearing stayed usable.

Scope of the sample project

  • Old low-slope covering removed and deck repaired
  • Standing seam system rated for the shallow pitch
  • Two-piece counter-flashing at the stone chimney
  • Snow retention above the entry walkway
  • End-of-day site cleanup in the wooded clearing
